Blockchain Legislative meeting on Tuesday
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Future of Wyoming is in Blockchain technology and data security.
The committee on Blockchain Financial Technology and Digital Innovation Technology had a meeting in Laramie Tuesday.
“We need to bring it to the states, so that we can bring it into Wyoming. Not only be on the front line but be able to benefit from what that brings to us, “said R.J. Kost, Senator for District 19.
Wyoming is taking the lead in creating supportive legislation around this new technology. Blockchain aims to create encoded security around digital information, like banking, currencies, and sensitive data.
Wyoming is currently setting itself up to create the legal and technologically secured framework through Chancery Court, whose purpose is to provide a forum for streamlining resolution of commercial, business, and trust cases and help mitigate legislation.
By helping diversify Wyoming’s economy and become a digital data and currency leader globally.
“I think were at the stage where we’re learning what capabilities there are for Blockchain and private industry. How innovative they get, and provide opportunities no one’s ever dreamed of yet,” said Ron Gullberg, Director of Strategic partnerships for Wyoming Business Council.
A second committee meeting will amend any necessary drafts in November, and new bills will be presented to the Legislature in February.
