Cheyenne Laramie County Health Department offers vaccination incentive
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With Cheyenne and Laramie County’s low vaccination rates, CLCHD has found a way to incentivize the community to receive their shots.
Kathy Emmons, the Executive Director of CLCHD, said, “so what we are doing is a incentive that, if you get vaccinated, if you’re completely vaccinated after today, then you will get a one hundred dollar gift card. You can use it on whatever you want, and if you have minors getting it, it will be in the name of the parent. "
The first shot must occur on September 13 or after, and the first 500 will receive the $100 gift card. Every person in your party that gets vaccinated will receive a card, as well.
The dose is not required to be from the Health Department, It can come from any doctor or licensed vaccination zone. You can bring your card and, after some cross-checking, will still be rewarded.
You are only eligible if you live in Laramie County or are a current student at Laramie county Community College.
The reason for deciding now is the time to offer the incentive is simple. It revolved around ids going back to school.
“We wanted to do it in conjunction with going back to school because having kids go back to school is an expensive endeavor. You’ve got school supplies and you’ve got have clothes and shoes,” said Emmons.
The Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are all eligible for the promotion.
