It is another gorgeous say outside today! Lots of sunshine sticking around, with an appearance from a few clouds throughout the day. On radar and satellite, light clouds have been able to be tracked moving from the north down towards the southeastern corner. Those clouds are now reaching us, and will continue moving out during the evening hours.

The smoke is quite heavy today in the southwestern corner and along the western border. By Thursday afternoon, the heavy smoke will reach the eastern border and will maintain there and in the northeastern corner. The smoke will hold in this position through Friday.

Temperatures today are getting a little break from the hot side. Majority of the state is seeing high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and low 90s. The area with 90 degree temperatures is found in the north and central portion of the state. Tonight, the temperatures will cool into the 40s, 50s, and some areas will have 60 degree low temperatures. Tomorrow, temperatures will be back on the rise. The northeastern corner and the eastern border will return to having temperatures in the mid to upper 90 degrees.

Wind speeds tomorrow are also expected to pick up. The southeastern corner is where wind speeds are expected to pick up the most. Speeds are estimated to be in the middle teens, and possibly even reaching into the twenties. These wind speeds mixed with the temperatures tomorrow are perfect for creating fire hazards and producing Fire Weather Warnings.
