LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - University of Wyoming Cowboys Head Football Coach Craig Bohl has described 2020 as “a bad movie.”
This comparison prompted Wyoming News Now’s David Graf to wonder what a good movie is. Graf asked University of Wyoming football players and coaches this question at UW Media Day in early August.
Answers ranged from breaking down how a movie about this UW football season goes to what someone might enjoy seeing at a theatre or flipping through the channels. Most players gave an example of both, but you can see some of the best answers down below.
University of Wyoming Senior Wide Receiver Ayden Eberhardt: “A good movie would be us winning the Mountain West, and that’s our number one goal.”
Linebackers Coach Aaron Bohl: “One’s a comeback story, and two just winning. I mean everyone likes when the good guy wins at the end. I’ll keep it simple like that.”
Senior Running Back Trey Smith: “Spongebob, for sure. I love Spongebob. That’s my favorite cartoon, and he’s got three movies I think.”
Defensive Ends Coach Marty English: “Just having our guns loaded is what makes this a good year.”
Senior Cornerback Azizi Hearn: “You’re gonna call me boring though because I’m going to tell you The Godfather, man. I love that movie. I’ve seen that movie probably like 10 times.”
Senior Running Back Trey Smith, again: “Oh, going undefeated. Going to a big bowl game. Putting Coach Bohl on my shoulders with a Gatorade dumping on him. I want all that to happen. I want all of Wyoming to field rush the bowl game. That would be my perfect ending.”
University of Wyoming kicks off its football season Saturday at War Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m. versus Montana State.
