Cheyenne-AMR unveils new tactical ambulance
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne-American Medical Response has a new tactical ambulance dedicated to their Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) team.
This vehicle is actually an older vehicle that received a new wrap. This new rig will be used with the TEMS team and the Cheyenne SWAT team to provide medical treatment to those involved in high-risk situations.
The new vehicle is three years coming and the Cheyenne-AMR says that it’s good to finally have a new vehicle exclusively for different responses -- as long as they don’t have to use it.
“We’ve had a team for about 3 years attached to the SWAT team,” said Cpt. Derek Hendren, Tactical EMS Coordinator. “The vehicle is something we’ve been working on for about that amount of time and just got it done about a week ago. We’re excited to have it. We do train several times a month so it will be out and about. Doesn’t necessarily mean the SWAT team is out so if you see it don’t be alarmed.”
The AMR TEMS team trains monthly with the Cheyenne SWAT team and is deployed jointly on high profile, high risk police calls.
