LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - UW Linebacker Charles Hicks has entered the transfer portal with game-day less than two weeks away.

The senior made the announcement on Twitter (_@hicks5) on Monday afternoon, saying: “Thank you Wyoming. Memories with this group of teammates has been nothing but great. But due to circumstances I will be entering the transfer portal. Coaches feel free to contact me. Gods plan”

Hicks redshirted in 2018, was a special teams player/reserve linebacker in 2019, and started all five games that he played in in 2020.

Heading into fall camp, he was listed as the starting WILL (weak side) outside linebacker on the depth chart provided by Wyoming Football on June 2.

Hicks registered 31 total tackles, two sacks, and one interception in his 17 games played as a Wyoming Cowboy.
