CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Early this morning, Cheyenne got the last of the storms that pushed through the southeast. This system quickly continued pushing out towards Nebraska and lifting towards the northeast. In the northern portions of the state, there are a few showers remaining. Other than those last few showers in the north, clouds are the only thing effecting the southeast.

We are seeing some high wind speeds today! the wind speeds are definitely helping to move this system right along. In the southeast, sustained wind speeds are reaching nearly 25mph or greater. These types of speeds are not only in the southeast though. They can be seen as far west as Kemmerer and as north as Sheridan.

Wind speeds in the southeast corner are quite windy. Cheyenne reaching 31mph.

We have been lucky with the smoke staying fairly light over this past week. As this system finishes out of the state, the smoke is going to be able to sneak back in. By Saturday afternoon, Jackson and Yellowstone NP will see a heavy smoke pocket in the northwest corner. Through Sunday, the moderate to heavy smoke will move east and push back into the state.

The light to moderate smoke will begin pushing back east across the state.

Temperatures today are the coolest that they will get this week. Majority of the state is seeing temperatures in the 60s, while the southeast corner is in the lower 70s. Tonight, the low temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s. Tomorrow begins the increase back into the 80s. Some parts of the state will already reach the low 80s tomorrow.

Temperatures will be increasing back into the 80s starting tomorrow.
