Last Bit of Rain Coming This Afternoon

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Today has been full of rain and clouds. This morning, most of the showers were contained to the center and western portions of the state still. Cheyenne received a few scattered showers this morning though as the system began its rotation to the northeast. Showers are beginning to make their way into the southeast corner this afternoon.

Around 4PM, heavier showers showers and thunderstorms can be expected to reach the southeast corner of the state. Once that portion of the system clears, Cheyenne will be left with random scattered showers before the second round comes in at 3AM tomorrow morning.

Once this system finally pushes out of the state for the most part, there can be a few showers left behind in the northeast corner tomorrow. Otherwise, wind speeds will quickly pick up to continue moving the system out of the Cowboy State. These wind speeds are forecasted to reach into the mid20s, resulting in a High Wind Warning.

Temperatures will continue to cool off for one more day. Today, the temperatures are ranging from the 50s to the upper 70s in the southeast. Tonight, temperatures will cool into the 40s and 50s once again. And tomorrow, majority of the state will be in the 60s while the southeast corner will be in the 70s. Temperatures will return to the 80s after this weekend.
