LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The University of Wyoming football team will return almost all of its starters from the 2020 season. Head Coach Craig Bohl has developed a reputation for grooming talent on his Cowboy football teams.

He’s seen seven players taken in the NFL Draft since he took over in Laramie in 2014, which includes Josh Allen, the highest NFL Draft selection in program history. There have also been a handful of former Pokes to carve out successful NFL careers after going undrafted.

Senior Defensive End Garrett Crall, who has seen many of those talented players pass through Laramie, said this year’s team might be Bohl’s best.

“Personally, I think that this is the best team that Coach Bohl has assembled here in Laramie,” said Crall. “I think that credit goes for what they do in the coaching staff as far as building up players. I think the coaching staff we have here right now is the best coaching staff hands down since we’ve been here.”

Wide Receiver Ayden Eberhardt, another senior, said he “absolutely” agreed with Crall’s assessment of the talent on this year’s squad.

“Looking on the field, we’ve got playmakers everywhere, and I’m not only talking about the offensive side but the defensive side as well,” said Eberhardt.

The first look at the talent on this year’s team will come on Sept. 4 against Montana State.
