Hot and Smoky Again
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
We are seeing clear skies today, as far as clouds and rain goes. Radar and satellite this morning were bone dry and without any indication that things were going to change. Some very light clouds will appear this afternoon, but there will be a clear out in the overnight hours. Tomorrow, we can expect to see partly clouds skies.
The smoke forecast is changing once again though. Over the past couple of days, smoke conditions became much lighter than what was previously experienced towards the beginning of the week. Now that a new week is starting, smoke is headed back into the Cowboy State. The smoke today and tomorrow is going to be thick, especially across the northern regions of the state. By Wednesday, the smoke should slightly lighten up again.
The state is covered in watches and warnings today. Air Quality Warnings are taking up the majority of the state and will stay in effect until Monday (today) at 1PM. The northwest corner is under a Fire Weather Warning today until 9PM. There is also an area, in the south and central part of the state, that is under a Fire Weather Watch until Tuesday (tomorrow) at 9PM.
Temperatures today and tomorrow are heating back up. High temperatures are going to be in the range of 80s and mid to upper 90s. The northeastern corner is where most of the hottest temperatures are going to be located today. Places like Sheridan, Worland, and Gillette will be pushing towards the triple digit border once again. Low temperatures tonight will mostly be in the 50s and 60s. The northwestern corner can expect to see lows tonight in the mid to upper 40s. Tomorrow, the warmest temperatures will be shifting over towards the eastern border. This shift allows for Wheatland, Torrington, and Scottsbluff to see temperatures in the triple digits.
