CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Today was a warm day outside, but a beautiful day nonetheless. The sun was up, and even though there were clouds, we were able to still see the blueness of the sky. Clouds have been coming and going in the southeast all day. Moderately heavy smoke has returned to the southeast corner today as well.
Going into tonight, we will see temperatures cool into the 50s and 60s. The heavier smoke will begin to push east and back across the state. The heaviest smoke will be along the western border and in the northern half of the state. Air Quality Warnings in the northwest corner are in effect until Sunday (tomorrow) at 1PM.
Clouds will also continue into tomorrow from today. There is also a chance of seeing some scattered showers in the afternoon/ early evening. Temperatures will remain warm and will range in the 80s and 90s. The warmer spots are going to remain the northeast corner and along the eastern border.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures like what we have seen this past week will continue through the first couple of days. By the middle of the week, we can expect to see another rain chance. The system bringing in the rain and also the rain will allow temperatures to quickly cool off. Places like Cheyenne, Casper, and Laramie could see high temperatures in the 70s.
