CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Natrona County Coroner has identified Robert Sterling Brownell. He was found by search and rescue early this week.

Taylor Courtney, the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Seargeant, said deputies responded to a call from a rancher who noticed a man running with his two dogs.

The rancher noticed the Brownell’s car next to the Kendrick Canal. Deputies found one of the dogs inside the vehicle. They also noticed ratchet straps and other materials that would help someone get out of the canal’s running water.

The second dog is still missing and next of kin has been identified.
