CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Casper Police Department is hosting their annual Night Out Tuesday night. National Night Out is a recognized national initiative to bring together police departments and communities.

Police officers will hand out Casper Police Department swag items, free donuts, and have different vehicles kids can check out. CPD is also bringing back their dunk tank this year for more entertainment.

The event encourages officers and community members to get to know one another.

“So it really does just keep Casper the safe place that we know and love instead of where we see in other places in the US where that distrust is really prevalent within communities. We feel really lucky that we don’t have that and we feel like it’s our responsibility to do events like National Night Out too so we can keep it the safe place we know and love,” said Rebekah Ladd, the Casper Police Department Public Information Officer.

The event will last from five to eight at David Street Station.
