CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - A police officer and a civilian driving a pickup truck are lucky to be unhurt Thursday night after a crash that landing the pickup on its top.

According to Wyoming Highway Patrol, who helped with the investigation, it happened Thursday afternoon on Lincolnway and Ridge. A police car was headed east, lights and siren on, trying to get to the Cheyenne Downs to assist in a reported physical disturbance. A civilian driver in a Ram 1500 pickup was headed south on Ridge, but also had a green light. Authorities say the driver didn’t see or hear the police cruiser and drove in front of it in the intersection.

Wyoming News Now observed the truck was damaged on the driver’s side, near the rear tire. The crash landed the police car facing oncoming traffic on Lincolnway, while the truck rolled and landed on the side of Ridge Road upside down. Wyoming Highway Patrol public information officer Sergeant Jeremy Beck says there were no injuries in the crash.

The intersection was closed for a time but has since reopened.
