CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now/Press Release) - Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon joined Wyoming News Now on Thursday, July 29, 2021. She spoke with Grace Foulk about the events taking place on Saturday at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the general work accomplished by the Wyoming Hunger Initiative.

Below is more information from the First Lady’s office.

Over 86,000 of our Wyoming neighbors struggle with food insecurity. Nearly 28,000 of them are kids. That is not okay with us!  Hunger Initiative is proud to partner with Cheyenne Frontier Days to increase awareness about food insecurity in our state at the largest outdoor rodeo in the world!

Wyoming Hunger Initiative Day will be held on July 31st during Cheyenne Frontier Days and you won’t want to miss it! First Lady Jennie Gordon is serving as the Grand Marshal of the parade that morning and you will spot the hunger heroes throughout the day in their trademark blue. Best of all, you can support Wyoming Hunger Initiative by purchasing a Cowboys Stompin’ Hunger t-shirt while you’re at Frontier Park.

Money raised by Wyoming Hunger Initiative will be reinvested into Wyoming grassroots organizations across all 23 counties to support, improve, or expand existing anti-hunger organizations and to provide the framework for new programs. Donations can be made at nohungerwyo.org/donate and every dollar makes a significant impact. Wear your Cowboys Stompin’ Hunger shirts on Saturday, July 31st, take a photo and use the hashtag #WYStompHunger and join the fight against food insecurity in our state!

Cowboys take care of each other - both in and out of the rodeo arena. Together, we can end hunger in Wyoming.
