WYO Lotto does good for the community
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Playing Cowboy Lotto might be your favorite pastime when you’re at your local tavern. Still, WYO Lotto does a lot of good in the community, and the funds WYO Lotto generates every quarter goes to help cities, towns, and counties.
These funds go to 110 municipalities to be used for amenities like pools and schools to help local communities.
The Cowboy Lotto prizes jump from $1 million to 2, thanks to retailers and players and the hugely popular Cowboy draw has a payoff of 68 percent.
Power-ball and mega-million payoff odds are about 50 percent and are both currently over $100 million.
WYO Lotto is also adding some new games to their roster. One is called 2 by 2, which has had 11 winners of their top prize. Their newest game, KENO, is coming out next spring and will be in 150 to 175 new locations and can be played in bars and taverns.
" A 68 to 65 percent, that’s really good odds. You wont find those odds in Vegas. Thats why we have so many winners, especially with the cowboy draw and that keeps people playing,” said John Clontz, CEO of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation.
There are 450 locations throughout the state where people can play these games, and they can be found mostly in convenience stores and truck stops.
