CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Lions Park has a new feature, thanks to the U.S. Navy Week that is visiting Cheyenne from July 26 until Aug. 1st.

It is the U.S.S Nimitz, which is a virtual reality Navy simulator on top of an 18 wheeler truck. The experience is open to the public and comes set with virtual goggles, headphones and vests to immerse folks in the Navy mission experience.

“If the Navy is something youre thinking about, I think getting down to the Nimitz, and seeing what a real mission is like, could really drive your passion for the Navy,” said Anthony Beck, U.S. Navy Petty Officer, 2nd Class.

The air-conditioned truck supplies a nice break from the dog days of summer heat and is directly across from the Cheyenne Frontier Days park, for those who may be looking to escape the crowds.

There is plenty of free swag, Navy information and cold water bottles to keep everyone comfortable while being entertained.
