CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Starting off today with hot temperatures all around. Most places saw above 80 degrees with others hitting those upper 90s and getting close to triple digits. Smoke is another issue happening around the state. A number of air quality warnings are becoming more significant as the smoke from the wildfires is causing a thick haze to be seen even in areas not affected by the warnings.

Some isolated showers are moving through this evening, but most of them are short-lived and many areas may not even see rain from them. Nothing in terms of severe weather is expected for the next few days as the Storm Prediction Center has the southern and eastern parts of the state under a general thunderstorm risk. We have a stationary front sitting over the state right now bringing some of these isolated showers and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Tomorrow, it is possible that the southern regions of the state can see some showers, but chances are very low. Tonight, cooling down into those upper 50s, but the smoky and hazy conditions will remain. Tomorrow, the heat is back on as above average temperatures will remain over the next few days. Upper 90s and triple digits will be expected throughout much of the state with very little in terms of clouds or rain to help cool us off. Going into this week, these high temperatures will stick around until the middle of the week, then our storms chances continue to increase going into next weekend while also helping to cool off the state.
