Return of Cheyenne Frontier Days brings some new additions and policies
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Frontier Days is back after having to be canceled due to the pandemic in 2020. Its return also comes with some new additions.
One of the new additions is a clear bag policy for all bags coming into the grounds. There is also a new shape detector system at each security gate to come in. It’s important to remember that no firearms are allowed in, and neither are pocket knives longer than three and a half inches.
“They’re just going into use now but it looks like the throughput on it is good, and if you have something that is detected you’ll just be moved off to the side and have a chance to look at it,” said CFD Security Committee Lead, Bernie Kushnir.
There is also a brand new food vendor at the park, Fun Biz Concessions hosted a Food Festival last fall to give the community a taste of what it has to offer. It is now all set to go for the 125th Cheyenne Frontier Days.
“We have a new food vendor this year. He has your basic carnival food, all the way up to your unique items. So there’s something that I think everybody is gonna love to get,” said Woody Acord, with CFD Concessions.
This year’s CFD will also have a focus on electronic payments due to the pandemic. Cash will be accepted in some locations but card payments are encouraged.
