CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Starting off today, we saw warm temperatures all around, but nothing like the heat we witnessed a few days ago. New today is another air quality alert for the western side of the state including cities like Riverton and Rock Springs until tomorrow afternoon.

The smoke from the wildfires is getting so intense that we can point it out on the satellite and radar. Lots of fast moving showers and thunderstorms made their way through the state today. Most of them were on the southern and eastern regions of the state. This helped to keep temperatures more moderate during the afternoon hours. Nothing in terms of severe weather as the Storm Prediction Center moved their Marginal risk out to South Dakota and Nebraska. The southern regions of the state tomorrow can expect some more scattered showers and storms as the front continues to move through the state, but much less chance of precipitation when compared to today. Once again, nothing in terms of severe weather as there is just a general risk in place for the southern and eastern regions. Tonight, clouds will be sticking around most of the state but temperatures will begin cooling off to more seasonable levels. Tomorrow, still warm conditions, but much better than most days that we’ve seen this week in terms of temperatures.

Smoke is likely to stick around for the western and northern regions for the rest of this weekend. After that, most places will stay dry for a few days, but also see increasing temperatures as a result.
