It’s Hot With A Chance Of Afternoon Showers
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
This morning, there is a huge system of clouds and rain in the center of the state. This system brought rain showers to Rawlins and Casper. The rain and clouds will continuing moving East throughout the day. This movement will allow more clouds and afternoon showers to enter into the southeast corner of the state.
We do not have any Fire Weather or Air Quality Warnings in the state today, nor any watches. To our South, there is an Air Quality Warning and Flash Flood Warning. To our North, there is a Fire Weather Warning. But thankfully nothing is in-state. On the Storm Prediction Center Fire Outlook, the northwest corner is under an Elevated Fire Weather Risk for today.
With afternoon rain showers being a big part of the forecast, the Storm Prediction Center has placed the southern and eastern halves of the state under a General Thunderstorm Risk today. Tomorrow, the whole state will under that General Thunderstorm Risk. Gusty winds and heavy are both possible with the showers occurring this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Luckily for those getting to go to the Garth Brooks concert this evening, the rain should clear out before the 8PM show time.
We are still seeing statewide hot temperatures today. Today’s high temperatures are in the 80s and 90s. 90 degree temperatures are mainly residing in the northeastern corner of the state. Low temperatures tonight will cool into the 50s and 60s for most of the state. Tomorrow is going to be another copy and paste day. High temperatures tomorrow will remain in the 80s and 90s, with most of the cities seeing 90 degrees being in the northeast corner.
