Cloudy, Sunny, and Rainy Conditions Return
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Showers took place this morning along the western and northwestern borders. Along with those showers, were also a lot of clouds. That system is going to push towards the east today, which will bring in lots of cloud coverage to our southeast corner of the state.
Warnings are back in the state today. There are two warnings, actually. An Air Quality Warning has taken place in the northwest corner again today. That Air Quality Warning is in effect until Thursday (today) at 1PM. The other warning is a Fire Weather Warning in and around Jackson. The Fire Warning is in effect until Thursday (today) at 9PM. On the SPC Fire Outlook, the only risk value today is the slightest Dry Thunderstorm Risk in the most northwest corner of the state, which does effect Yellowstone N.P.
We will be seeing showers come through this afternoon, but they are expected to be very light. The Storm Prediction Center has majority of the state under a General Thunderstorm Risk, but the northeast corner is under a Marginal Thunderstorm Risk today. Tomorrow, most of the state will continue being in the General Risk, and the northeast border of the state will be in the Marginal Risk. Gusty winds, heavy rain, and a chance of small sized hail are all possible with Marginal Risks.
Temperatures have been quite hot recently, and unfortunately they will continue to be that way through the weekend. Today, we are seeing high temperatures in the 80s and 90s again. A lot of the northeast corner is being impacted by those mid to upper 90 degree temperatures. Temperatures will cool down into the 60s for tonight’s low temperatures. For tomorrow, we can expect temperatures to be the about the same as today, with more cities getting a chance to sit in the 90s.
