CRMC now able to offer all cardiac services in one location
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - For the first time, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will be able to offer all of its cardiovascular services to patients in the same location. The Cheyenne Regional Medical Group Heart and Vascular Institute and Cheyenne Regional Medical Group Podiatry, is now open to patients. It has been a work in progress for the last year.
“Many times those patients are established with our cardiology colleagues or need to be established with them. So now they can come one stop shop, and see all the providers on the same floor and get excellent comprehensive vascular care,” said CRMC Chief of Vascular Surgery, Dr. Elias Kfoury.
That one stop shop includes Podiatry and Cardiac Rehab.
“Patients are here three days a week to work out for cardiac rehab exercise and if there’s any problems, the staff down at Cardiac Rehab can walk down the hall, and find a cardiologist or PA, and go and address the patients issue right away,” said CRMC Cheyenne Cardiology Associates Physician Assistant, Amanda Diefenderfer.
This type of care is part of CRMC’s continued focus on providing the community with the best care possible.
“Having us all together is a perfect scenario for limb salvage. Our patients get quicker care and in terms of limb salvage, time is tissue, so the faster that we act on the foot wounds or infections, the more tissue we save,” said CRMC Podiatrist, Dr. Brian Friis.
Dr. Friis said they are already seeing success in the space, and believes the future of patient care will only get better with these services.
