Another Hot Day Today
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Yesterday was really a clear day statewide, very few places saw clouds and even less saw rain. That all changes today. A huge system that was to our west yesterday has now progressed east this morning. We will be seeing heavy cloud coverage as we continue further into our day today, especially as that system continues to move east.
We have been seeing hot temperatures and dry conditions for several days now. Those two ingredients are the perfect mixture for Fire Weather Warnings and Risks to enter back into the state. The Fire Weather Warnings from yesterday have increased in size today, taking up nearly half of the state. The warning is now in effect until Tuesday (today) at 9PM. The Elevated and Critical Risks on the SPC Fire Outlook today has moved out of the state towards the northeast, but continues to leave the Dry Thunderstorm Risk in the northwest and along the western border.
Today is going to be another hot day! Though it is hot, it is not going to be nearly as hot as it was yesterday. Several cities saw temperatures past 100 degrees yesterday. The rest of the state saw temperatures ranging within the 90s. Today, the state is seeing temperatures ranging between the 80s and 90s. It is still going to continue being warm this week. Tomorrow’s high temperatures will remain in the the 80s and 90s.
