CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The DDA has been hard at work lately. If you find yourself in downtown Cheyenne in the future, you’ll have a new landmark to check out. The DDA has finished their work on a Cheyenne sign downtown, with more projects on the way.

‘We’re just so excited to, not only as the DDA but just as a real group of community members, to be able to bring something like this to downtown,” said Haylee Chenchar, the Vice President of the DDA.

This landmark comes with the help of multiple partners, such as McGee, Hearne & Paiz, (MHP), Microsoft, Jonah Bank of Wyoming, Gener8tor, Crowley, FleckArts, Cheyenne, and Visit Cheyenne. With their help, the project has developed into a multi-level effort. Now, the DDA will work to implement landscaping efforts, water conservation, and kinetic art pieces downtown. But with these projects, all involved are working to create pieces of art to help liven up Cheyenne and create must-see attractions for visitors of the city.

Arts Cheyenne Committee member Desiree Brothe said, “we don’t have that many permanent place-making pieces in downtown, and that was one of the reasons Arts Cheyenne was so willing to get involved, to lend another thing happening. Place-making is a huge, just an incredible piece of not only art-development, but of community development.”
