Friday Weather Update
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
This morning started relatively calm on our radar and satellite. There were a few showers that grazed the northwest corner. As the day has progressed, the showers have lifted out and left clouds behind. More clouds will come in from the west and the south.
We have been seeing rain every afternoon, in this continuous on and off pattern. In order to continue our pattern, we would have to be seeing more afternoon showers again today. Which is exactly what is going to happen! Rain showers will return late this afternoon and stay through the early evening. Clouds and rain will clear out overnight. Not to worry though, clouds and rain will all return again tomorrow afternoon for another round. The Storm Prediction Center has the state under a General Thunderstorm Risk for today and tomorrow. Gusty winds, heavy rain, and there is a chance for small hail.
Temperatures today will be in the mid to upper 80s and 90s. The eastern and northeastern portion of the state are the parts seeing temperatures in the low to mid 90s today. Overnight, temperatures will cool down and range from the 40s to 60s. Tomorrow, the high temperatures are going to be quite warm again. Many more places will be seeing temperatures in the 90s or upper 80s.
Warmer temperatures have brought the Fire Weather Warnings back into the state. If we were to slice the state on a diagonal from the southwest to the northeast corner, the northern half would be the part with all of the warnings. Both Fire Weather Warnings and Air Quality Warnings are active today. The Fire Weather Warning is in effect until 9P on Friday (tonight). The Air Quality Warning is in effect until 1:15P this afternoon.
