Casper community comes together for annual parade
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Hundreds of people gathered to watch 130 floats drive through downtown Casper this morning.
“I am so pleased to be out and about to see Casper thriving after COVID. it’s wonderful,” said NJ Garton, a parade spectator. Crowds filled the sidewalks it was hard to see where the sidewalk started and ended.
Kids ran after candy being thrown and got cooled off by the new Casper-Natrona County airport fire truck. “I want to get wet,” said one of the kids watching the parade.
This parade is to bring people together and celebrate summer. This year it’s about being able to gather as a community. “I’m excited I met up with both of my families,” said another kid spectator.
“We are five generations of Wyoming Folks so this is a yearly trek for [family members] to come down and enjoy this,” Garton said. Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo celebrations go until July 17.
