Outdoor Women’s Hunting Camp starting Sept. 7
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department have partnered with the Safari Club International Foundation and the First Hunt Foundation to support women’s increasing interest in hunting and the outdoors.
Together these departments have created a mentored hunting workshop camp for women called Beyond Bow Hunting.
The camp is scheduled Sept 7 through the 11 or 12th, depending on how long participants want to attend.
The camp will be held between Bondurant and Hoback junction and will cost $350 for four days or $425 for five days. The group is limited to 20 women and the registration cut-off is July 9.
" This is the third year of the camp, and we’ve had lots of success. It’s really fun to see those past participants, out there enjoying the Wyoming that we all know and love, and putting food on their table and spending time with their family,” said Kathryn Boswell, Hunter & Angler Participation Coordinator - Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
Other classes included in the camp are outdoor survival, hunt planning, knife handling, and animal tracking.
Women can choose between their preferred hunting tool of archery, shotgun, or rifle to practice their marksmanship skills.
