Morning Weather Review
June 29, 2021
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
We had a dry and cool start to our day this morning. The sun was able to come out and there were very few clouds in the sky. Temperatures across the state were consistently in the 40s and 50s, with a couple cities in the low 60s. The day is going to remain quite comfortable, with high temperatures forecasted to reach into the 70s and low 80s for most of the state. Cloud coverage will increase as we get closer to the afternoon, turning into a partly cloudy day. There will still be plenty of sky room for the sun to continue shining through. The clouds that form this afternoon will stick around overnight and into tomorrow.
Along with the remaining clouds from today, the southern half of the state could see a chance of rain tomorrow. This system of rain is likely to be scattered across the southern portion of Wyoming. A few of the showers could produce some lightning and thunder along with the rain. Due to the chance of thunder and lightning, the Storm Prediction Center has placed a General Thunderstorm Risk for tomorrow. These showers are forecasted to begin tomorrow afternoon and last through until the early evening hours.
Temperatures were able to cool down a bit after the showers that came through last weekend. We will begin to see a steady climb of temperatures across the state starting tomorrow, as we head into our holiday weekend. By this weekend, temperatures across the state will range from the upper 70s to the mid 90s. Cheyenne is forecasted to be in the mid 80s by this weekend. Casper is forecasted to be in the lower 90s. Temperatures will continue rising into next week as well.
