CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming Legislature didn’t make a decision for education funding during the most recent session. There could be a bright side.

Wyoming Superintendent Jillian Balow said there are $303 million dollars in federal funding coming to help school districts. Balow said it’s against the law to replace federal funds with state funds.

The Wyoming Department of Education is also getting funds for programs that will help support what schools are doing with the money. “I know schools are preparing for budget reductions and weirdly at the same time preparing to accept federal funds that can augment the education program they are able to deliver at a local level,” Balow said.

Balow added she is working with the legislature about how to move forward with education funding.
