CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you’ve been downtown on a Friday night this summer, you’ve probably heard the sound of live music. That’s the sound of Fridays on the Plaza. This Friday will mark the fourth concert of the City’s event series that runs until the end of summer.

“The first three weeks went exceptionally well. We had a little weather delay last weekend but the bands were amazing, the crowd stuck around. I think everyone’s just excited to be out and enjoying some summer, some live music,” said Community Recreation and Events Deputy Director, Jason Sanchez.

Sanchez said they were prepared to hold the series in 2020 but the pandemic forced them to cancel it for the summer. If you’ve been around the Cheyenne Depot Plaza this year, the slogan “The Heartbeat of Summer 2021″ is ringing true.

Sanchez also said they are fortunate to be able to host the events this year, but he said it wouldn’t be possible without their team, their sponsors, City leaders and the Cheyenne community.

“Without the amazing team of people, without our sponsors, the food vendors, the support of our Mayor and our City Council, we wouldn’t be able to do it. The other thing is the community comes out, supports it and we have a great time. Summer’s in Cheyenne are the best. We have warm days, cool nights, so we have to take advantage of it while we have it.”

Friday June 25th’s concert will feature The Broadcast and Taylor Scott Band. It begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs until around 9:30 p.m.
