CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - If you’ve recently driven on South Greeley Highway near the Interstate-80 ramps, you have probably noticed the construction.

The work going on is a part of the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s “District One Bridge Rehabilitation Project.” WYDOT Resident Engineer, Wayne Shenefelt, said this is one of five structures that are being worked on for the project.

Shenefelt said this bridge was in pretty solid shape, so crews have been repairing potholes, and going over it with an overlay, which seals up the deck and gives vehicles better traction. He said overall, operations have been going well.

“Traffics been doing pretty well as far as slowing down and paying attention. Other than that, work’s been progressing really well. The contractors had a couple minor delays but for the most part things have went pretty good.”

Shenefelt said he expects the South Greeley Highway project to be finished within the next three to four weeks, or at least before Cheyenne Frontier Days.
