CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Saturday, the 48th Wyoming Shrine Bowl kicked off from Casper and for the first time since 2012, the South team came away with the victory.

They did it in an impressive fashion, overcoming a 20-7 third-quarter deficit and winning 34-32 after stopping a North team 2-point conversion attempt to tie the game.

Gatorade Wyoming Football Player of the Year, and former Cheyenne East Quarterback, Graedyn Buell threw for 310 passing yards, which is the new Shrine Bowl record.

“It means a lot to be able to get that win for the South,” said Buell. “I mean it’s not just this team, these coaches that we’re playing for, we’re playing for all those Shriners kids and all those Shriners that do so many good things in this world. So we were playing for those guys. So to be able to bring it back to the South means a lot. It’s just a blessing, really.”

For their efforts, the Wyoming News Now sports department has decided to name the South team the Prep Team of the Week. Below is the roster, coaching staff, and the school the senior attended/coach coaches for, per The names of kids/coaches covered by KGWN and KCWY are bolded.
