CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Casper Police Department wants to educate residents of 12th and 13th Street not to park in the parkway, the area between the street and the sidewalk.

Sgt. Jeff Bullard understands this is an issue in this neighborhood but wants to keep people safe. It’s difficult for people driving on 12th and 13th street to see people trying to cross the street.

Officers are not giving out any tickets right now for parking there. However, they will get a pink sticker as a reminder. CPD wants to work with community members if that space is necessary. “As long as they’re not damaging city property like the curbs, blocking stop signs or obstructing the views on the roadways then we are willing to work with them,” Bullard said.

Community members can read the new parking manual and learn about parking permits on page 10.
