CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - High wind warnings are in place until midnight going into Friday. The winds are blowing in ahead of a cold front that will cool the state into pleasant weather for Friday. However, that pleasant summer heat will give way to an all out heat wave as the state looks to hit a hot dry spell.

Precipitation looks to be below average for the next week, and heat will be well above average. Cheyenne can expect to be in the mid to high 80′s this weekend, and Casper in the 90′s. By next week some areas including Casper and Scottsbluff have multiple shots at triple digit highs.
