Casper Fire-EMS respond to second structure fire of the day

CASPER, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - At approximately 8:00 PM tonight, Casper Fire-EMS was called to a structure fire in the 500 block of East 12th Street.

Firefighters arrived to find an exterior fire on the back of a single family residence. The fire was extinguished within minutes and kept to the exterior of the building. The residence was vacant and undergoing renovation at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported. The structure had no damage to the interior. The exterior sustained heat and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. It is currently under investigation by an Inspector from the Natrona County Fire Protection District. Initially, four engines, one truck and Battalion Chief responded. One crew remains on scene completing overhaul to assure complete extinguishment.

Casper Fire-EMS was assisted by Casper Police, Wyoming Medical Center, Black Hills Energy and Rocky Mountain Power.
