Nuvision Credit Union to pump free gas for veterans, active duty military and their families on Memorial Day
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - Nuvision Credit Union continues to show its support for local military by filling up the tanks of veterans and active-duty military at the Maverik Gas Station on 3315 N. College Drive. The event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 31 – Memorial Day.
“Memorial Day is a day to remember those who sacrificed all in the name of freedom,” said Nuvision CEO Roger Ballard. “This is a small, but heart-felt way Nuvision can show our support to military members, past and present, who have fought for our freedom.” Ballard noted the event is open to all service members and veterans within the area.
Through its NuvisionCares community program, the Credit Union has provided free gas, meals, social events and more to military members across its western-states network.
Nearly 20 Nuvision employees and family have volunteered to pump up to 20 gallons of gas for each guest from the military on Memorial Day. Maverik has reserved 10 pumps to the program, to insure the military members receive quick, attentive service at the event.
In addition to the gas, Nuvision will also donate $2,000 to Dogs & Tags, an organization dedicated to training and providing service dogs, with a special focus on veterans.
Nuvision is a $2.4 billion Credit Union with branches in Cheyenne and Casper. Overall the Credit Union’s branch network extends to California, Arizona, Alaska and Washington, and serves more than 180,000 members.
