CASPER, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - During fiscal year 2020/2021, the Natrona County Travel and Tourism Council (doing business as Visit Casper) awarded $164,000 in grants to support events that bring overnight visitors to Casper.
“Last year was tough for many, including the travel and tourism industry,” said Brook Kaufman, CEO of Visit Casper. “And while our budgets were tightened as a result, we know that supporting events will help our tourism economy recover, which is important to our community.”
Grant funds were awarded to several organizations, with recipients including:
Special Olympics Fall Tournament: $2,000
Wyoming Coaches Association: $3,500
Proud to Host the Best: $30,000

Grant criteria include the number of room nights generated in Natrona County lodging facilities, time of year for the event, impact and retention. Applications are reviewed by the Grant Review Committee and then presented to the full Visit Casper Board for final approval. Completed grant applications are accepted twice each year: by October 15 and April 15.
