CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -As the school year wraps up, families may be looking for activities to fill up the summer months and Wyoming State Parks is happy to help.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer and reservations for cabins and campsites are now up and running.

June 5th is also scheduled to be a free fishing day. All fishing fees will be waved by Wyoming Game and Fish and Wyoming State Parks for this day.

The science of nature event gives families a chance to learn about ecosystems and animals on June 12, at the territorial prison historic site. On June 26, “Cars in the Yard” happens, with 30 plus cars on display with money going to local charities.

August 7th is “Kids Fishing Derby” at Buffalo Bill State Park in Cody.

Wyoming historic audio tours are also available on all smartphones to visitors who are looking to mix history and adventure with a road trip.

WYO Parks is also looking for volunteers for the division of Wyoming state parks, historic sites and trails to show visitors around this summer since this year is anticipated to be even busier than the 6.9 million visitors who visited Wyoming in 2020.
