Cheyenne prepares for summer events, expecting a busy tourism season
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - As more summer event announcements pop-up around Cheyenne, preparations are underway for a busy tourist season. Mayor Collins said the city is gearing up for a record-breaking year.
According to Mayor Collins, Cheyenne did relatively well in terms of tourism revenue when compared to other cities during the pandemic year. He is hopeful the coming months will top the charts and bring in some good business for the Capitol City.
The city is making necessary preparations for a full-house. Whether it is city enhancements, repairs or marketing, Cheyenne is on track to make an impression for locals and out-of-towners to enjoy the community sites and sounds.
“We are working on repairing some of our curb and gutter that has been broken up along the parade route and around the Depot. We are doing some spiffing up of the Depot Plaza area where a lot of our tourists come. Last Saturday, we did a community clean-up so that we could have our best foot forward. We’re just trying as a city to make sure that we look good, so that people enjoy their visit,” said Collins.
