WY Responsibly starts June 1st
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -Summers around the corner do you know what you’re doing yet? If you’re headed outdoors, there’s a new campaign to be aware of WY Responsibly.
In 2020 Wyoming received 6.9 million visitors looking to social distance. This year even more tourists are expected during the summer months.
Originally a response to COVID -19. This campaign emphasizes safety tips, mindful travel and local favorites throughout the state and outdoor spaces.
Starting June 1st, the Wyoming office of tourism and the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish launch their WY Responsibly campaign.
Visitors will have plenty to choose from in Wyoming’s outdoor spaces and the Game and Fish Department ask that tourists remember spring and summer are baby season. Calves and newborns will be everywhere and are to be respected at a social distance.
Campers are also reminded to keep areas clean, bear safe, and to have bear spray accessible. Watercraft are also to be inspected at AIS ports of entry for any invasive species, and recreationists should wear life jackets while on the water.
Summer is the best time to WY Responsibly.
The office of tourism encourages you to share photos while outdoors. You can use the hashtag WY Responsibly.
