Prep Athlete of the Week: Brogan Allen
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - When the chips were down, Wyoming News Now Prep Athlete of the Week Brogan Allen rose to the occasion.
The Central Softball team was one win away from a spot in the state tournament and the Lady Indians turned to her.
The junior pitcher threw a complete game, allowing just one run, and striking out seven en route to a 2-1 victory over Laramie.
“After all the pitching that I did throughout the whole game and then the plays that we made especially Kaitlyn [Ackerman], because she caught the last out,” said Brogan, “It just felt great knowing that “OK I can kind of relax now. We made it.’”
Brogan is also a talented hitter, slashing .526/.565/.860 (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage),
Bottom line is, she is a big-time player.
“She is one that I know I can trust with anything,” said Central Softball Head Coach Carrie Barker. “When you put pressure on her she has that great mental capability of taking on anything.”
Brogan also plays volleyball and basketball at Central, but she said she wants to play softball in college for whichever school gives her a chance.
Congratulations to Brogan Allen, Wyoming News Now Prep Athlete of the Week.
