CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Regional Medical officials presented their master plan in renovations for the hospital that will total up to an estimated $115million dollars. The renovation will begin by renovating their mother baby unit. This unit in particular is currently on the 5th floor and will be moved to the 4th floor for the renovation. Following this relocation, they will remodel the 5th floor and move the ICU to this location.

Regarding the renovations, according to CRMC Chief Operating Officer-Robin Roling, says that “We are hopeful that we will be able to start in July of this year with construction in what is currently know as our four tower unit; as well as the unit what we call the 68th building, somewhere in the interior of the building portion so that 68th building section will be our post-partem area. Then the tower area will be our labor, delivery and neo-natal intensive care unit.”

This will be the initial phase of their master plans. However, the plans are not strictly for the main hospital location. Robin says the East campus will be seeing renovations as well. “Completing renovations in the basement there to create some conference room spaces.” Robin adds, “Then we will be looking at what kind of activity needs to happen to update and renovate our behavioral health unit. Once we get those sections done, we have additional plans then to update our pediatric unit, as well as upgrades to all of our tower units, our general, medical and surgical rooms.”

The renovation plan looks to cover the next 10-years. Robin mentioned however, that the plan is based around a pause period. There, they will evaluate the state of things and assess the community’s needs and plan accordingly. Renovations look to begin this coming July.
