4A soccer state championship bracket is set
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The 4A soccer regionals came to a close yesterday in Evanston and Gillette, and yesterday’s results determined seeding for this upcoming weekend’s state championship in Cheyenne.
The brackets have been set, and the quarterfinal games will begin on Thursday.
On the girls’ side, all of Thursday’s games will be hosted at Cheyenne Central. Thunder Basin and Rock Springs are the top seeds.
Thunder Basin will face Natrona County in the first round at 4 PM. The winner of that game will see the winner of the Kelly Walsh and Sheridan game at 2 PM in the semifinals.
Rock Springs will face Cheyenne East at 11 AM on the other side of the bracket. Cheyenne Central and Jackson will get the girls state championships started at 9 AM.
The boys’ quarterfinal games will be played at Cheyenne East, and Kelly Walsh and Sheridan are the top seeds on their respective sides of the bracket.
Thunder Basin and Star Valley will get the boys’ games going at 9 AM. That game will be followed by top-seeded Kelly Walsh taking on Cheyenne East on East’s home field at 11 AM.
Sheridan will face Evanston at 4 PM and the winner of that game will meet the winner of the 2 PM contest between Jackson and Laramie.
The state championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 3 PM.
