Laramie County School District 1 Nutrition Services will continue to provide free meals

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (PRESS RELEASE) - Laramie County School District 1′s Nutrition Services will continue to provide free meals for children ages 18 months to 18 years from Monday, June 21 through Friday, Aug. 13. Each bag will contain a breakfast and a lunch.

Nutrition Services will not serve meals on Monday, July 5. Each bag will contain a breakfast and a lunch and on Fridays, food bags will include three breakfasts and three lunches. Nutrition Services will not serve meals on Monday, July 5.

Food bag pickup will be held from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the following sites. » McCormick Junior High—Bus loop on the East side of the building » Arp Elementary—West side of the parent/staff parking lot » South High—Northeast corner of parking lot » Eastridge Facility—Back side of the building. Summer school students at will be provided a breakfast and a lunch at the following locations, » Afflerbach Elementary » Baggs Elementary » Davis Elementary » Goins Elementary » Meadowlark Elementary » Prairie Wind Elementary » South High » Sunrise Elementary Meals will be provided to Community Recreation and Events students at Romero Park and Pioneer Park Center, ASK students at Arp Elementary and students at Triumph High.

Summer Academy students will be provided breakfast and lunch at Arp Elementary, Cole Elementary, Fairview-Lebhart Elementary, Rossman Elementary and Saddle Ridge Elementary. All meals served to enrolled students over the summer will be grab and go. Some of the meals will have a warm entrée.

The Summer School/Academy sites will not be open to the public. Meals for the public will be provided at the mobile sites listed above.

Free meals for all students will continue next school year as the USDA has extended some waivers. To ensure continued funding for the Nutrition Services program, families should still fill out free and reduced meal applications. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
