CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Fort Caspar Museum is open year-round, but the summer is when visitors are able to get the full experience.

The outside exhibits featuring forts modeled after what they looked like in Casper in the 1860′s are open to the public. Fort Caspar Museum Director Rick Young said the forts are displayed “as if someone just walked out the door in 1860.”

Young also said that this is a fun time of year for him and his staff. “This is the time of year when we get to open the fort buildings back up, set up the exhibits in each of the rooms, and then start seeing the school kids coming through in large groups of tours,” said Young.

The museum is open seven days a week from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
