Festival of Hope to be held on Saturday
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - J.R.’s Hunt; For Life is a suicide awareness non-profit based in Casper, and it is holding its annual “Festival of Hope” on Saturday.
The event will be held from 1 to 3 P.M. at The Lyric. There will be musical acts, mental health professionals, mini therapy horses, food and more.
Everything will be free because “hope is free,” said J.R.’s Hunt; For Life’s Jenny Hunter.
“Like our daughter says, if you need hope, come and get hope,” said Hunter. “And if you don’t need hope, come and give it away for free.”
Hunter said she’s excited to break the silence around suicide and mental health at Saturday’s event. “Breaking the silence and reducing the stigma with suicide and mental health that’s the greatest thing that we can do is to start talking about it and have the conversation the about it,” said Hunter. “And this event always encourages conversation and talk with no judgments at all.”
“Hope is the enemy of suicide. If we can offer hope to anyone, anywhere in our community, that’s what we’re going to do.”
