CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -

Good morning Wyoming and happy Friday! Snow showers are firing up this morning for the northern part of the state. The heaviest bands are near Sheridan at 8am and are heading east. The snow will transition into rain once the temperatures increase throughout the day. Thunderstorms are possible along the I-80 corridor this afternoon with the potential to have 40mph wind gusts accompanied by the storms. Temperatures will be cooler for the northern half of the state due to the cold front still draped over the state. The southern half will hit highs in the low 50s while Casper will be in the upper 40s. Casper will experience mostly cloudy skies this Friday while Cheyenne will see mostly sunny skies.

Saturday temperatures will increase into the upper 50s and 60s for the state with the Wyoming winds coming back with gusts in the 30-40mph range. Sunday temperatures sore into the upper 60s and some 70s will even pop up across the state! A beautiful weekend is on tap all though some places will experience partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.

After the weekend the attention shifts to Monday and Tuesday as another system comes in cooling the temperatures down and bringing the potential for more rain showers across the state.
