Funding for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program is coming to Wyoming
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -The Emergency Rental Assistance Program will be taking applications in Wyoming on April 29th at 8 a.m.
The Department of Family Service will open its website to applicants for rental or mortgage assistance available to renters and landlords.
Federal assistance has given the state $200 million and can be used to pay utilities, broadband and in some cases, applicants may be able to forward pay rents by three months.
The program eligibility will be determined by an “Area Median Income,” which factors in members per household and county, and documentation d verification will be required.
The director of the Wyoming Department of Family Services encourages people who have a financial need due to challenges faced during the pandemic to apply, as 23 thousand households will be eligible.
Call-centers and case managers will be available to help clients over the phone, online and in person in almost every county, listing will be posted on the D.F.S. website. Additional resources and services will be posted and updated weekly.
