Casper College Women’s Basketball selected as the eight-seed in the NJCAA National Tournament

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The stage has been set for the Casper College Women’s Basketball team’s run at a national title.

On Saturday, the Lady T-Birds (22-1) fell to Otero Junior College 94-89 in overtime of the Region IX Tournament Championship.

It was CC’s first loss of the season and ended the Lady T-Birds attempt to repeat as Region IX champions.

But the season is not over. On Sunday, Casper College was picked as on of the top-eight teams to receive an at large selection in the NJCAA National Tournament.

The Lady T-Birds will be the eight-seed in a tournament that features 24 teams.

#8 Casper College plays the winner of #9 Three Rivers College and #24 Eastern Oklahoma State College on Tuesday, April 20 at 3 p.m.

The NJCAA National Tournament will be held in Lubbock, TX.
